Collaborate with the OpenGrid community

Zulip is an open-source team collaboration tool that combines the immediacy of real-time chat with an email threading model. It offers organized conversations through topics and streams, making it easier to follow discussions and find information later.

You’ll use Linux Foundation Single Sign-On (SSO) to access Zulip.

Using Zulip

Zulip organizes conversation into channels and topics:

  • Channels are broad areas of discussion (for example, opengrid-discussion).
  • Topics are the specific subjects within a channel. Every message belongs to a topic, so you can follow one conversation without wading through the rest.

Think of a channel as a mailing list and a topic as the subject line of an email thread.

Finding and joining the OpenGrid channels

When you first log in, you will not be subscribed to any OpenGrid channels. Subscribe to them so they appear in your left sidebar.

  1.     In the left sidebar, click Browse more channels
  2.     In the All channels list, type opengrid in the filter box at the top.
  3.     Click Subscribe next to each channel you want to join.
